Just Steve...
Steve Olson is an acoustic performer who is known for playing to his strengths and making people smile. He enjoys his solo performances, but can also be seen performing as part of many groups.
Steve has been playing music professionally on and off since the age of 17. From 2003 to 2005, Steve provided drums and backing vocals in the very successful band Solving For X. The band received many accolades for their CD "What Planet Are You?", and substantial airtime at radio stations across the US and Europe. Four songs from the CD became incredibly popular on Pandora. From 2007 to 2009, Steve played guitar and sang with the Chicago based 20 Mark Helga. In 2011, Steve joined forces with long time friend Jeannine Hong to form the duo Less is More playing folk and pop with their personal twist. That duo also appeared as part of the swing trio Something Completely Different with friend Mik Hideg.
Currently, Steve is still playing solo shows but is also working with the phenomenal Kortney Renae in the duo Kortney and Steve. With both performers well schooled in singing harmonies, and both with a love for Musical Theater, these shows will include some different material mixed in with the normal pop/rock covers, and be quite possibly amazing.
While comfortable in front of both large crowds and small groups, Steve has found that any stage can be his personal happy place. His performances have the same energy whether he is playing a house party for 15, a club show for 500, or a large gathering for 3000. The goal is always to make each person feel like the show is for them.
